Tammy Petrin becomes very close to the Harnois family. She spends a lot of time at their home and calls Joane Harnois mom. At some point Harnois and Petrin begin having an affair. Joane Harnois becomes aware of the affair and threatens to divorce him. Harnois secretly marries Tammy. He is still married to Joane Harnois at the time.

1990: He then devises a plan to murder his wife Joane in order to avoid a costly divorce. Tammy Petrin agrees to help. Harnois then attempts to murder his second wife by putting a bomb under her car.

August 1990: Tammy Petrin and Ronald Harnois are arrested for conspiring to murder 36 year old Joanne Harnois.

The state dropped all charges against Tammy for her help in prosecuting Ronald. Ronald finds out about this so he looks for someone to murder Tammy. First he asked his sister Celeste Harnois to do it. But, she would not. So he spoke to fellow inmate William DiGregorio. DiGregorio agreed to help, but he was released before they were able to plan the final details. Ronald Harnois refusing to give up, had his sister Celeste pay DiGregorio the money. Digregorio spent the money instead. Harnois then recruited a man named Gary Maxie. Maxie later lost interest, but gained interest once again once Harnois hired a man named Steve Wilson to carry out the actual murder. Maxie then agreed to go over a few minor details with Steve Wilson, such as showing him where she lived and worked.

July 30, 1991: Witnesses observe Steve Wilson and an unidentified male circling the Social Street Burger King in Woonsocket, Rhode Island at around 5:30 am. Steve Wilson is dropped off in a parking lot next to the Burger King. He steps into the restaurant and shoots and kills a 21 year old cleaner from Guatamala named Jenner H. Villeda Calderon and 24 year old Tammy Petrin. The bodies are found by the manager at 6 am.

July 1997: Steven H. Wilson dies of an overdose. He is a suspect in the Burger King Murders. Police search his apartment and uncover evidence that he was the shooter.

1998: Ronald Harnois is finally charged with the murder of Tammy Petrin. Harnois is currently serving a 20 year sentence for attempted murder, arson, and bigamy.

2001: The family of Tammy Petrin and Jenner Villeda ask the judge to sentence Ronald Harnois to the longest time possible. Even his own daughter asks for a long sentence. The judge grants this and Ronald Harnois is sentenced to 3 life sentences.

Tidbits
The murder occurred at the Burger King in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
The murderer Steven H. Wilson had been in prison for narcotics since the mid seventies.

There is a discrepancy about whether Tammy knew that Ronald was married or not. At trial Joane revealed that Tammy was a friend of her daughter. Tammy always stated that she had no idea that Ronald was married until 8 weeks after they were married.

Ronald Harnois wanted to get rid of his wife by "making her go boom".
